Listening Log Information

The purpose of the listening log is to have you listening to more classical music outside of Instrumental class. Each quarter your Listening Log is due to me. Make sure it is something you can turn in to be graded and not something being used in another class. Here is the information on the log.

·        You must listen to 5 piece of classical music EACH quarter.
·        The pieces must all be different (no duplicates!!)
·        Classical music can be: Orchestral, Concert Band, Opera, Musicals, Jazz, Chamber music, or Solos for individual instruments. This must be music we would listen to in class. Music that does not fit into the categories above will not be counted as an entry.
·        Answer these questions for each entry:
o       What is the title of the piece of music?
o       Who is the composer?
o       When was it written? (You can just write a decade if you do not know the exact year).
o       What instruments do you hear?
o       How would you describe the mood of this piece of music?

What category of classical music would you put this in (Orchestral, Band, Opera, Jazz, etc)

BAND DUE DATES:

First Due Date: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23rd

Second Due Date: FRIDAY, JANUARY 15th

Third Due Date: FRIDAY, MARCH 19th

Fourth Due Date: THURSDAY, JUNE 3rd

ORCHESTRA DUE DATES:

First Due Date: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22nd

Second Due Date: THURSDAY, JANUARY 14th

Third Due Date: THURSDAY, MARCH 18th

Fourth Due Date: FRIDAY, JUNE 4th
